Hello Qwhackers!
I'm excited to share another update for Qwhack’s Vertical Slice!
This release, version 0.2.1, brings both behind-the-scenes improvements and new features for you to try out. There’s also been significant code restructuring in the background. This is an expected ongoing process as Qwhack continues to grow.
What’s new in this version:
- First Iteration of the Store: The store makes its return! While it’s still an early version with placeholder items and layout, you can now get a feel for how the game’s progression will work.
- New Main Menu Iteration.
- Whack-Based UI: I’ve started designing the UI to match Qwhack’s core gameplay—every interaction revolves around whacking, even in menus and the store.
- Balancing Tweaks: Gameplay balance has been adjusted based on player feedback and the addition of the store. Still very WIP of course.
- More Readable Fonts: The fonts and how the scale have been updated. This is one thing that gains from changes I did to the rendering pipeline in the background.
- Display Player Stats: You can now view your player stats, making it easier to track your progress. This is a very "debugish" placeholder HUD though.
